Flying can be a really great way to get around, especially if you’re traveling a long distance. However, there are a few things you’ll want to bring with you to make your trip as comfortable and stress-free as possible.
Do you have everything you need for your upcoming flight?
Most people don’t realize how important it is to bring all of the necessary items with them when they travel by air. That’s why we’ve put together this comprehensive checklist of what you should bring with you on your flight. Follow these tips and you’ll be prepared for anything that comes your way!
Make sure to pack everything on our list and you’ll be able to enjoy a worry-free flight. We know that traveling can be stressful, so let us help take some of the burdens off of your shoulders.
Here are 7 items you should always bring with you when you fly:
1. Identification – passport, driver’s license, etc.
You’ll need some form of identification with you when you fly, so make sure to bring your passport or driver’s license. If you’re traveling internationally, be sure to check the visa requirements for your destination country.
If you lose your ID while on vacation, it can be a major headache trying to get it replaced. So make sure to keep it safe and secure while you’re traveling.
2. Boarding pass
You’ll need your boarding pass to get through security and onto the plane. Make sure you have it ready to show the attendant at the gate.
If you’re checking a bag, be sure to bring your baggage claim ticket as well. You’ll need it to pick up your luggage after you arrive at your destination.
3. Ticket or itinerary
Be sure to bring a copy of your airline ticket or itinerary with you. This will come in handy if there are any changes to your flight schedule. It’s also a good idea to have the contact information for your airline on hand, just in case you need to get in touch with them while you’re traveling.
You can find your airline’s contact information on their website or by calling their customer service line. If you’re using a travel agent to book your flight, they should provide you with all of the necessary information you need.
4. Cash and/or credit cards
You’ll need some form of currency with you when you fly, so be sure to bring along some cash or credit cards. If you’re traveling internationally, be sure to have the appropriate currency on hand.
It’s always a good idea to have a few backup forms of payment in case something happens to your primary method.
5. Prescription medications and glasses/contacts
If you take prescription medications, be sure to bring them with you on your flight. Make sure to pack enough medication for the entire trip, plus a few extra days just in case something happens.
It’s also a good idea to bring along a copy of your prescription so that you can easily refill your medications if needed.
6. Sunglasses and sunscreen
If you’re traveling to a sunny destination, make sure to pack your sunglasses and sunscreen. The sun can be really harsh on your skin, so it’s important to protect yourself from the harmful UV rays.
Sunglasses are also great for protecting your eyes from the bright light of the airplane cabin. Make sure to pack a hat and/or sunglasses if you’re traveling to a sunny destination.
7. Snacks
Travels are not boring with best-quality snacks. Pack a few of your favorite snacks to take with you on your flight. This will help keep you energized and avoid the temptation to buy overpriced food at the airport.
Be sure to pack snacks that are easy to eat and won’t make a mess. Cookies, trail mix, and fruit are all good options. You can also bring along a bottle of water to stay hydrated during your flight.
Here are some handy snacks you may choose from :
- Fresh fruits like apples, bananas, oranges
- Dried fruit like apricots, figs, raisins
- Nuts like almonds, cashews, peanuts
- Crackers like wheat thins or Ritz crackers
- Jerkies like beef jerky or turkey jerky
You may also want to include drinks like soda, fruit juices, tea & coffee, milk, water, etc.
Remember to pack your snacks in a small bag or container so they’re easy to carry on the plane. And be sure to check with the airline to see if they have any restrictions on what type of food you can bring.
